Since its launch for the Spring/Summer 2011 season, Montane®'s new Minimus Jacket has received sparkling reviews in Trail Running magazine and Outdoor Photography.
In Trail Running's Spring 2011 issue Waterproof Test, the Minimus was declared "a great investment for adventurous, regular trail runners; for £120 you get a light, very well-made jacket suitable for everything from your local park to forays into the mountains".
It was rated Best in Test against 15 other jackets, with 5 out of 5*s.
The result of an Outdoor Photography test was equally positive. Receiving their Best in Test award, the reviewer wrote of the Minimus: "simply excellent: an extremely lightweight waterproof with every 'must have' feature and nothing extraneous...I tested this jacket across and range of activities and weather and found it to be faultless".
The Minimus was given 100% ratings for versatility, comfort and hood and a 90% rating for fabric/performance. Overall it was awarded a 97.5% rating - practically perfect.

As a full time MTB guide and instructor I thought I'd post a few words.. Pack and clothing weight are crucial for long days on the bike so after testing this jacket for a few weeks I'm totally sold. Sideways rain on the North York Moors posed no problems and it is without doubt the most breathable waterproof jacket I've ever worn. Add to that the fact that it scrunches down to the size of an apple means you can keep it in your pack at all times. Having just bought the bike specific Photon (no hood and drop tail), I will post an update on durability in a few months. Looking good so far though!
