The Grivel G10 has really become the standard winter hillwalkers crampon. Updated in 2009 to Lux standard!

The Grivel G10's have 10 points (as you may have guessed) that are just the right length for walking in the hills and mountains but not to long as to fatique the foot. They come with new classic bindings meaning they will strap onto any suitable boot and be held securely and easily in place.
The new Grivel G10 Lux now comes with anti-balling plates, which stop the build up of wet snow on the bottom of the crampon, and a rather nice zipped bag to keep them in when not in use.
The Grivel G10 is ideally suited to boots like Scarpa SL or the Meindl Lhotse, those boots with a B1 rating. They will fit boots up to around the size 11 mark after that you will probably need an extender bar, available seperately and very easy to fit.
We recommend that you fit your crampons to your boots in the comfort of your own home and familurise yourself with the strapping system before venturing out onto the hill, just be careful on that laminate flooring.
Ideally they should be used in conjunction with an ice axe and you should undergo some training in how to walk with crampons on and what to do in the event of a fall.
