The Goal Zero Nomad 7 is 30% smaller than comparable panels and 14 times more powerful than closest competitor. Thanks to its mono crystaline panel it oustrips its competitors in lower light conditions especially cloudy days. The Nomad 7 can be used with Guide 10 to charge its AA batteries thus allowing you to power your devices when solar is not available.
Please Note
That the Nomad 7 kicks out a maximum of 7 watts of power the average being 5 to 6 in full sunlight, this will be much less on cloudy days, so it cannot be relied upon to drectly power your mobile device. For many mobile phones this is enough power, the iPhone 4, however needs up to 10 watts (as does the iPad, whereas the iPhone 3 needs much less so is OK) this means the phone will NOT charge effectively from the panel alone you will probaby see and error message on the phone. For this application and especially in the UK we recommend the Guide 10 Plus Mobile Kit which is the Nomad 7 and a Guide 10 Plus battery pack, this battery pack WILL charge your iPhone and the Nomad 7 will replace the power in the battery pack more reliably. This advice is from personal experience and is open and honest. We believe that Goal Zero offer the best solution for charging electronics in the wilds but want you to get the best from them.
Please Note: In order to get the best charge from the sun/daylight, open up the panel BEFORE plugging your device in.
