Fishing Venues Near Pickering, North Yorkshire.
Posted on August 24 2016
On this page I have tried to create a list of fishing venues in and around Pickering on the edge of the North York Moors in North Yorkshire. The venues I have included are a mixture of still, lakes and ponds, and moving water i.e. rivers most of which offer day tickets, the venues are a mixture of coarse and game fishing. A full colour leaflet is available in store, please ask.
The fishing in the Pickering area is mostly coarse, as you would expect, although we also have some excellent game fisheries. Wykeham Lakes is the biggest fishery in the area covering all aspects of the sport including a Trout lake which has some very big Trout in and even bigger Pike, up to 46lb, the dedicated Pike lake is awesome.
For beginners I would recommend Buzzers Pond which is a young pond with a very good head of fish, it requires little casting as the shelf is only 3-4 foot out and is snag free, if you can't catch here then try golf.
Selley Bridge Lake is a great venue for more experienced anglers it is very well landscaped and holds some great fish especially tench.
If you have a fishing venue and would like to be added to the list then please get in touch.
